VIRGINIA PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION TO HONOR 964 FALLEN PUBLIC SAFETY HEROES AT THE 10 TH ANNIVERSARY MEMORIAL CEREMONY


RICHMOND, Va. – Leaders of Virginia’s public safety community will pay tribute to officers who have died in the line of duty in Virginia. This year marks the 10 th Anniversary of the Commonwealth Public Safety Memorial that was dedicated in 2014.


The Ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial located at 901 Capitol St., Richmond, VA 23219. (Located in front of the Patrick Henry Building facing Capitol Square.) There will be a complete Roll Call of the Fallen Heroes with a multi-jurisdictional agency participating in the Honor Guard, a 21 Gun Salute and the Virginia Public Safety Pipe and Drums.


The following heroes have been added to the Memorial in 2024:

1. James M. Alexander, Jr. – Hanover County Fire & EMS

2. James Edward Brewster - Dix Creek, Amonata, Dry Fork (DAD) Fire Department (Tazewell

County)

3. Ernest N. Cash -Monelison Volunteer Fire Department (Amherst County)

4. Matthew R. Chiaverotti – Virginia Beach Fire Department

5. Cameron Bentley Craig – Abingdon Fire Department

6. Vivian Thomas Crawford – Scruggs Volunteer Fire & Rescue (Franklin County)

7. TyVaughn Nathaniel Eldridge – Chesterfield County Fire & EMS

8. Mia R. Ethridge - Louisa County Department of Fire & EMS

9. James A. Foster – Rice Volunteer Fire Department (Prince Edward County)
