
Fire Chief Todd Lagow

Chief Todd Lagow has proudly served as the Fire Chief for the City of Norton since 2015. In addition to leading the department, he also serves as the city's Emergency Management Coordinator, Hazardous Materials Coordinator, and Chief Operating Officer for the Norton Rescue Squad. Chief Lagow plays a critical regional role as team leader for the Wise County Hazardous Materials Response Team and sits on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Virginia EMS Council.
With more than 37 years of service in emergency response, Chief Lagow began his career with the Wise Volunteer Fire Department and Wise County Regional Haz-Mat Team. He joined the City of Norton Fire Department in 1990 and later served as a Firefighter/Paramedic and Haz-Mat Specialist for Rockingham County Department of Fire and Rescue. He was also a firefighter and Sergeant with the City of Bristol, Virginia.
Chief Lagow is the Vice President of Division 4 for the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association and remains a strong advocate for the advancement of fire and emergency services across the Commonwealth.
He resides in Norton with his wife of 27 years, Becky. They have two adult children, Logan and Cadence, who are both actively involved in emergency services. He is honored to represent and advocate for Virginia’s public safety officers through his service on the Virginia Public Safety Foundation board.
