Chief Shahram Fard

Chief Fard is a seasoned public safety leader with nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience. As the Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety for the City of Falls Church, he oversees the City’s police, emergency communications, animal control and fire safety services. Chief Fard previously served as a Chief Deputy with the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office and is a retired member of the Alexandria Police Department where he served as the Deputy Chief of the Field Operations Bureau. Chief Fard holds advanced degrees in Organizational Leadership from The Johns Hopkins University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the PERF Senior Management Institute for Police. He actively contributes to national and regional public safety leadership, serving on several boards and committees, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Board of Directors.
