Gilbane has served as Construction Manager on several public service memorials throughout the country, with two of the most notable projects including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the National World War II Memorial, both located in Washington, D.C. Gilbane was given the honor of working with these teams to deliver two of the most widely recognized public memorials honoring the service of America's combat veterans.

 

Gilbane's local Richmond, VA office was established in 2005 and is an industry leader in the Mid-Atlantic region.

 

Colin Robinson, PMP, Project Manager, has more than 15 years' experience in the construction industry including 11 years with Gilbane. He has been responsible for both pre-construction and construction management on numerous high profile projects in Virginia. Colin has experience on more than $250 million worth of projects/programs in Virginia, and is passionate about building in his home state of Virginia. His clients include landmark higher education entities such as the Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Virginia, and Virginia Tech. He also brings lessons learned from The Virginia State Capitol Renovation and Expansion, and the Richmond CenterStage Project, both highly complex historic renovations to existing buildings totaling over $100 million in construction value.

 

Anne Durkin has over 20 years of experience and is a founding principal of BAM. She has led BAM's Landmark Theater and Richmond CenterStage projects, as well as projects for Virginia Tech and the University of Richmond. Anne is an invited lecturer at the Virginia Center for Architecture, and a founding board member of Tricycle Gardens, a local non-profit urban agriculture initiative.

 

Established in 1965, Glavé & Holmes Architecture is a nationally recognized architecture, interior design, and planning firm. They are a leading practitioner of contextual design that is inspired by the specific culture, history and surroundings of a given community or place. Their design practice has cultivated expertise in five studios:  Cultural, Higher Education, Hotel & Home, Interior Design, and Urban Architecture, allowing them to provide the resources necessary for a diverse portfolio that involves new buildings, additions and renovations, adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and projects in historic settings. The firm has won numerous local, regional, and national awards for design excellence, and was recently recognized as a Top Workplace by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and WorkplaceDynamics.

 

Jill Nolt, AIA, LEED Green Assoc. is the Associate Director for Higher Education at Glave and Holmes.  She has spent 10 years in Richmond leading the design and implementation of a variety of architecture AND landscape architecture projects.  She has worked on numerous projects in Richmond, often ones that integrated building and landscape into a strong sense of place. Key projects include: American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar, Maymont Raptor Habitats, Richmond Canal Improvements, and Great Shiplock Park.  Jill currently is the Chair of the City of Richmond Urban Design Committee and is a member of the UVA Dean’s Advisory Board.
